Please note: While your ticket indicates a 10am time slot, you are welcome to arrive at any time during our opening hours of 10am-4pm. Please see staff on arrival to validate your pass. To claim your keepcup and hot drink, please arrive before 3.30pm.
We are open from 10am-4pm everyday, except for Christmas Day and during hazardous weather conditions.
On the Tahune Airwalk you can walk high above the forest canopy and share the lives of the forest giants from up-close, looking down to the place where the wild waters of the Huon and Picton Rivers mingle. The 600-metre walkway ends at a spectacular cantilevered platform 50 metres above the riverbank, with views extending to the mountains of the World Heritage Area.
The Huon Pine Walk is easily managed by most people and is the one of the best places in Tasmania to see young and mature Huon pines growing in their natural riverine rainforest environment.
Then follow the forest and riverside trail to the Swinging Bridges track, crossing two suspension bridges across the rushing waters of the Picton and Huon Rivers. The churning, tannin-coloured water beneath your feet began as rain and snow, deep in the Southwest wilderness.
Return to the wood fire in the cosy on-site centre and warm your frosty fingers with a hot beverage in your new Airwalk keep cup. Browse in the gift shop or enjoy local Tasmanian produce in the cafe.
